Growing Bookings While the Search Landscape Shifted Underneath
This travel SEO case study shows how a local Kashmir travel & taxi brand grew branded search demand and average click-through rate, and kept direct bookings climbing even as AI-driven search results compressed overall search visibility industry-wide.
Client: “Chinar Valley Travels” (name changed for client confidentiality).

The Challenge
The client is a well-established local travel and taxi brand serving Kashmir’s tourism market. Their site had a real search presence, but as AI-driven search summaries and overview boxes reshaped how travel-related queries are displayed through 2025, overall search impressions across the industry began compressing, and this account was not exempt. At the same time, the brand’s own foundation needed strengthening: local listing signals, technical health, and content depth were all leaving visibility on the table even before the wider search shift.
Our Approach
We ran this as a focused, three-part engagement built around what a local travel and transportation business actually needs to convert search visibility into bookings:
- ✓Local SEO & Google Business Profile: strengthening local pack visibility and listing signals for a location-based service.
- ✓Technical SEO & site health: fixing crawlability and on-site issues holding the domain back.
- ✓Content strategy & optimization: rebuilding pages around the specific routes, destinations, and services travelers actually search for.
The Result
This is a more measured result than a total transformation story, and we’re presenting it that way. Total impressions fell industry-wide as AI Overviews absorbed a larger share of search real estate, a pattern we’re seeing across travel and local-service clients generally, not something unique to this account. Within that shift, though, the fundamentals moved in the right direction: average click-through rate rose from 1.2% to 1.5%, branded search clicks grew from 113 to 144, and average position held essentially steady rather than eroding further.
Most importantly for the business itself, direct bookings and revenue saw a modest but real increase over the engagement window: the clearest sign that the traffic the site does get is converting better, even with fewer total impressions to work with. We consider this a case of protecting and improving quality in a compressing market, rather than a story of raw volume growth.
